My journey as a Mentor

Mentoring process

What’s my story?

I always had the desire to teach others and to share my knowledge and experience. In 2021 an opportunity presented itself to become a mentor at my Alma Mater.

Nowadays I’m a Mentor in the Mentoring UW program at the University of Warsaw and in The Mentoring Club.

I try to work closely with my mentees to help them identify their strengths and weaknesses, set goals and create action plans to achieve those goals. I also provide feedback, share insights and experiences, and offer support and encouragement along the way.

What is mentoring?

Mentoring is a process of providing guidance, advice, and support to someone who is looking to develop a particular skill set, gain knowledge or overcome challenges in their personal or professional life.

It’s a collaborative process that requires a strong relationship built on trust and mutual respect. It is a way for individuals to learn from someone who has been there before and to gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed.

Who is Mentor and who is Mentee?

Mentor is a person who provides guidance, support, and advice to someone who is less experienced or has less knowledge in a particular area. A Mentor is usually someone who has more experience, knowledge, and expertise in a specific field or industry than their Mentee. A Mentor’s role is to help the Mentee grow and develop their skills, knowledge, and abilities so that they can achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

Mentee is a person who is being mentored by a more experienced individual. Mentee is typically someone who is seeking to learn from the mentor’s experience and knowledge to improve their own skills, knowledge, and abilities. He or she rely on the mentor’s guidance and support to help them develop and achieve their goals.

Mentoring is a rewarding experience for both Mentor and Mentee.
